Whether for Men or women, Team India’s Horror run continues in semi’s and the finals…

Since after the win of India men’s cricket team in the ICC Champions Trophy final , almost six and a half years ago in July 2013, after in the any ICC tournament, India though qualified for the semi finals and sometimes reached the finals too, but were unable to bring any trophy home, since ICC Champions Trophy 2013. It is a same story for both India men’s and women’s teams in the ICC tournaments.

Starting from 2014 ICC t20 CWC, where India successfully reached the final and have to play Sri Lanka there, despite performing exceptionally well in the tournament by bowling out the strong teams like Australia for small totals , below 100, previously in the tournament, India failed to perform in the final. Everyone was saying that India does the opposite of what it did in the normal Group and pool matches. India women Team too failed too qualify for the semi’s in t20 CWC , the same year.

Then comes the story of 50 over WC for men’s in which India performed again tremendously well in each and every match and bowled out the opposition in each and every match , when qualified to play in the semi’s were defeated by a big margin of 95 runs by the hosts, Australia. In 2016 again the women’s team failed to qualify in the semi’s but somehow men’s team had reached in the semi final against windies. They batted too well in the first innings and gave them a 190+ target which is difficult too chase in such stages of a tournament where you can’t afford to lose the match. But by creating a bit of blunders, proved to be quite expensive for team India as some bowlers did one or two no-balls which gave the set batsman lendl Simmons 2 chances , to take his team across the line and he didn’t disappointed.

India lost to Pakistan in ICC champions trophy final, 2017.

But the controversy arised when India lost to their arch rivals , Pakistan by a devastating 180 run margin in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final. India though performed very well before in the tournament, but what happened in the final nobody exactly knows. The top three trio of Kohli, Rohit and Dhawan were removed cheaply in the power play and bumrah getting out fakhar zaman on just 3!, Before realizing that it was a no ball which gave the left hander to score a suberb ton to take his team to a brilliant total of 338. And the Indians were falling like nine pins , only pandya performing with the bat but could only take his team to 158! Every cricket lover was shocked after this match and controversies arised like, the match was fixed or something like that! In the same year, women’s 50 over WC was organized and the story was same. India team performed well by both batting and bowling and in the final they got an achievable target of 229 but failed to chase it too by scoring 219 and loosing by only a mere nine runs!

In 2018 women’s t20 WC , team India again lost to England in the semi’s and despite of that same good performance throughout the tournament!

Then again in the 2019 men’s world cup of 50 overs Team India did nothing different from the past tournaments, instead they repeated what they continued to do in the previous tournaments! Played well and defeated others one sidedly and in the semi’s where the batsmen who had performed well and scored runs for the team failed to make there mark again and continued to make blunders and gave the opposite team a win, which had only a little chance of stealing the game from us.

India women lost to Australia women, in ICC Twenty20 World Cup final, 2020.

Now recently on women’s day, when the final of women’s t20 world cup was played in which India won all the four matches in the group stage, and somehow by luck were saved by rain and their position in points table and when played Australia in the final, the same thing happened which followed the Indian cricket for last six and a half years! Australia gave a strong target of 185 by batting first with openers Mooney and Healy scoring 70+runs each and the top performers like 16 year old shafali Verma , who had a brilliant run in the tournament previously, failed to perform in the final . And again team India felled like nine pins and were bowled out for just 99 runs! And gave Australia a big 85 run win and the cup!

So suggest your opinions in the comments section , that ” what is going wrong with both the Indian men’s and women’s teams in the semi’s and finals, even after their tremendous performance in the league stages!
